GNESO Banner Advertising Policy & Fees

We are currently accepting paid banner advertisements for display in The Great New England Smoke Out Site. Advertising fees are based on a simple fee structure, with the specific advertising fee determined by the banner size and the length of time the advertisement is contracted to run. All advertisements have unlimited exposures (page views) and sites do not have to be listed in our sponsor directory to contract for banner advertisement placements.

All banner advertisements must be in .GIF format, must not be larger than 40kb in memory size, and may be either static or animated in nature. In order to maintain effective editorial control over the banners that we run on our site, all banner advertisements that we accept will be required to reside on our servers. We will not accept banner advertisements that reside on your server or other servers. Banner advertisements are accepted in the following size categories:

Standard Full Size Banner = 468 x 60 pixels
Small Size Banner #1 = 125 x 125 pixels
Small Size Banner #2 = 120 x 240 pixels
Cycling Banners = Full Size or Small Above

All standard Full Size Banners are placed "above the fold" of the web page they are contracted to run on. Consequently, they are one of the first items seen by visitors to that page and offer an excellent advertising value. Standard Full Size Banners may be placed either on the GNESO home page or on individual category pages.

Both sizes of Small Size Banners are placed "below the fold" in the left or right sidebar column of the web page they are contracted to run on.  Small Size Banners may only be placed on individual product category pages.

In addition, only Small Size Banners may be run on our forums main page.  However, the fee pricing is the same as the Full Size Banners.  This is because the significantly larger total viewing area associated with forum usage. 

Please note however that this applies only to the Full Size 468 x 60 Banner category.

All Cycling Banners (animated or otherwise) can be placed “above or below the fold” as requested.  The fee structure for a Cycling Banner is dependant upon the amount of cycles.  For example, a Full Size, three images Cycle Banner would cost the equivalent of three Full Size Banners less 10%.

The minimum banner advertisement run time is 3 calendar months.  Please note that all advertising fees must be paid in full in advance.

All submitted banner advertisements will be reviewed by our site staff and must be acceptable for general family viewing. Additionally, we will review the target location that the advertisement will link to and will not accept advertisements from any web site that contains pornographic or other adult oriented material, promotes hate crimes, violence, or racism in any form, or is in any way considered by our editorial staff to be inappropriate for general family viewing. We reserve the exclusive right to refuse any and all banner advertisements submitted.

To request a Banner Advertisement placement, please complete the brief form below. After receipt of this form, we will review your web site to insure it meets the general family viewing requirements stated above and will then notify you via email with specific banner advertisement submission and payment instructions. Please print or save these instructions and policies for future reference and proceed now to complete the Advertising Request form below.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Electronic submission of the form below indicates your complete acceptance of our Store Directory advertising terms and policies. Please note that ALL fields must be completed when filling in this form. Our site staff will not review incomplete submittals forms.

You selected the Home Page Banner Advertisement Option. Issue of a Home Page Banner Advertisement is assigned on a first come first serve bases. We will notify you via email or telephone if Home Page Banner location is not available.

With this Advertisement we will display your business or company logo image in the contracted location of GNESO’s site page, but never above any GNESO logo. Your logo or advertising banner will be hyper linked to your web site home page. All logos and/or images must be of high quality and must represent your business only. GNESO has the right to refuse any business logo and/or image that may be offensive to visitors of GNESO web site or of poor quality. Business logo or advertising banner size cannot be wider than 400 pixels or higher than 50 pixels with a file size of less than 7kb.
