: The way I see it, we are all immigrants (legal or otherwise) or the : descendants of the same. Today, my ancestors would not be admitted. By this argument unlimited immigration should continue FOREVER.  Would you tell a family that has adopted 3 children that they should adopt 4 more because, all your children are adopted ?  Lynn  Young |   United Citizens for   |   P.O. By this argument unlimited immigration should continue FOREVER. Nothing continues forever. And no one has suggested unlimited immigration now or ever. I have noticed that people who honestly believe that they are right are usually able to resist the opportunity to lie.  People who lie are usually hypocrites and usually know it. Can you give a specific, coherent reason for not allowing the Vietnamese refugees to come here?  You can hardly deny that we owe them.  If we didn't want the obligation we shouldn't have abandoned them 20 years ago.

: Nothing continues forever. Well, I suppose that's right.  Disaster does have a way of stepping in. : no one has suggested unlimited immigration now or ever. You don't appear to have read the earlier articles in this thread. : Can you give a specific, coherent reason for not allowing the : Vietnamese refugees to come here? You don't appear to have read the earlier articles in this thread. P.S.:  The amendments mentioned in the first article of this thread were not removed from the bill and the bill was passed.  Lynn  Young |   United Citizens for   |   P.O. : Can you give a specific, coherent reason for not allowing the : Vietnamese refugees to come here? You don't appear to have read the earlier articles in this thread. I did.  I saw no coherent arguments. I saw scaremongering about what would happen if half the world migrated here.  Since no one has suggested allowing that, it isn't even relevant. Hey, Lynn, why don't you go move your ass to Albania?  I think you would do very well there.  They have the same xenophobic attitude that you do. Meanwhile, we can use the space you free up to accept another Vietnamese refugee.  I think that person would make a much more valuable contribution to this country than you do.

What is wrong with Vietnam? The war's been over for 22 years? Do you think ALL Vietnamese should be on welfare? Or just some? I think there is already enough.

: I challenge you to post a copy of the post where someone advocated : unlimited immigration. O.K.  Here's my fav.  It's from a Mike _link_svayer ( This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it )  It was posted May, 12 1995. ...let's look at this from another angle:  limits on the movement of people across national borders and on their ability to work is the moral and practical equivalent of Apartheid ... One has no more control over one's place of birth than one's race, and phony borders shouldn't limit people's opportunities _base_d on either... As it happens, this fellow has a web site, so you can check out for yourself whether my quotes accurately reflect his philosophy. Mike _link_svayer, This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it : comprehensive guide to libertarian resources http://www.libertarian.com/wwlp/index2s.html : Can you give a specific, coherent reason for not allowing the : Vietnamese refugees to come here? Most people who support allowing yet more Vietnamese refugees to the US do so because they feel US foreign policy was harmful to Vietnam. However, those who will be affected by the arrival of the over 40,000 additional Vietnamese refugees will not those who set US foreign policy, but ordinary Americans. We simply do not need more people here, Vietnamese or non-Vietnamese, refugees or non-refugees.  In determining who should be admitted to the US, the needs of the US people should come first. : Hey, Lynn, why don't you go move your ass to Albania? Sorry, I don't know much about Albania.  Thanks for filling me in on the despicable quality of it's people.  Perhaps you can enlighten us with a more comprehensive list of the nations of the world, and your notes as to whether their people are worthy or unworthy of further existence.  Lynn  Young |   United Citizens for   |   P.O.
