These individuals get paid a _base_ salary for what they do.  They should *not* expect tips as a form of salary.   You should tell that to our managers.  They expect us to get tips.  Without tips, the job is not worth doing.  Nobody could keep delivering pizzas if paid minimum wage without tips. What's wrong with some expectation?  I'd like to hear someone use this form of thinking at Christmas or at an Anniversary.   Well, since you EXPECTED a gift, I didn't think you deserved one!  Christmas gifts or Anniversary gifts aren't mandatory either but you're an asshole if you don't give them out.   People just like to look for conflict I guess. Tim

to be rewritten. I have thought about writing my representatives about it.  After all, this is a state funded university, that uses MY tax money. Above all, this university shows that it doesn't care about college students. Most delivery drivers are college students.  What is the name of the university?  We need to e-mail them, especially the accounting office, and forward it to the president.

Yes, Send it to the predident, especially since his wife once was reprimanded for stiffing a waitress. He will take care of it. (It is so nice to be so ignorant and pretend you don't understand some things

Doesn't a menu state a certain price in the US? So then you do not have to tip waitresses. What about taxes that are added later on. The were not there when you orderd.  You obviously have never eaten in a NY restaurant where they put a mandatory 15% tip on the bill whether the service was excellent or absolutely sucked. If it sucked, do you go back? Me thinks not. You can always complain to someone, but most people will just stop going there. After a while, they either go out of business, or take a new waitress. And I have indeed never been to NY, but I know how it is, because in Europe, Taxes and Service is always included. As just an extra fact, prices are always prices including taxes, exept if it is pricing specially for businesses. And even then we have those $9.99 prices. The town where I live waitingstaff is not usedto getting tips. Service is better then average compared to other places in Belgium where they would fight over the tips. So, I know it is possible to give good service and include the total amount on the menu and the bill. (And I guess, when they don't say 'fuck off' and give you the finger, that is exelent service in NY.

If you really think you are en_title_d to a tip, then I suggest this:  Notify your manager how much you expect.  Have the person taking the orders on the phone to notify the customer how much you, the delivery person, expects in dollar amount or percentage. Fine.  As a driver, I expect $18 per hour, $25 per hour on a weekend, or about $22 per hour overall.  High?  I have to pay for gas, and that vehicle has to be replaced a LOT faster. Since I can deliver five pies per hour at BEST, and usually average 3.75 per hour, we'll call it four an hour.   $22 / 4 pies = $5.50 per delivery.  Since your average Dominos has a target of labor being UNDER 25% of sales, $5.50 / 25% = $22 for the average medium cheese pizza. You get what you ask and/or pay for.  If you want pizza to be $22 for a medium one-topping, be my guest.  But while you don't tip, and since I have four deliveries in the car, guess which one I go out of my way to take last?
