I have a problem with cig smoke drifting into our condo unit from the people below. Geez, you must have a sense of smell like a bloodhound! No, it's just that your sense of smell is blunted by smoking. It goes with the territory, just like your cough. Until you can get that through your head, you will not be able to understand why you are required to go outside to smoke.

I have a problem with cig smoke drifting into our condo unit from the people below. They insist on smoking on their porch and told me that they dont want to smoke inside their unit. I have a fan on my porch, trying to blow the smoke away. I have on several occasion sprayed lysol to help eliminate the odour. I think this is very unfair, since we live in close proximity of each other. I am looking for anyones advice that would help eliminate the smell. Unfortunately, I can not enjoy my porch and I am roasting on the hot days because I can not open my window. If anyone has some idea or something I can fight back with let me know. Geez, you must have a sense of smell like a bloodhound! It's their condo and their right to smoke anywhere they choose. How is it possible for you to even smell their cigarette smoke, much less be bothered by it so much that you want to fight back ? Leave them alone. They're not doing anything wrong. You'll just have to keep quiet and accept that there will always be smokers around you. You can enjoy your porch , you just want to cause major problems where none exists. No way does the smoke drift up to such levels 24 hours a day that you can't open your windows. You're over-exaggerating. While she has the typical smokers' screw-you attitude about secondhand smoke, she's right. There's really nothing you can do. About the best you can do is pressure and vote for higher cigarette taxes. There will be less smoking everywhere if the price of a pack doubled. Push for the elimination of the cigarette filter
