Our weekend was rather uneventful also. I worked an overnight shift from midnight Friday until 8 am on Saturday. I came home and tried to sleep while James worked a day shift. I crawled onto the couch and turned on the TV (even when I worked nights full time, I've always had a hard time sleeping during the day) and napped until 11. When I woke up, I turned on the inauguration just in time to see everyone leave the White House for the Capitol. Molly was napping on the couch as well, and woke up at about the same time. Now, I really don't know what was going on in her furry mind, but every time she saw Bush on the TV, she growled... well, at least she was looking towards the TV and her timing was great. While he made his speech, she growled and mumbled the whole time.. of course, I thought the whole thing pretty comical. When James got home from work, we changed and went to an installation dinner for one of our fire departments in the county. (If the Chief Dispatcher doesn't use her invitation, she makes it available to someone else from the dept to go.) We had a good meal, got to visit with a lot of folks I haven't seen in quite a while and danced a bit. Drove home in a snow storm, but that was fine, too. Sunday morning we slept in until James got up to go on an ambulance call. About 5 minutes after he left, I heard him call dispatch and say they had to find someone else to go because he was in a ditch and needed a tow truck. Fortunately, hearing his voice on the radio, I could convince myself that he was safe, or at least not hurt badly. He got home about an hour later, having had our mechanic pull him out and check over the truck. Thankfully James and the truck are both fine! The rest of the day was pretty well a wash.. we just hung around the house and finally went food shopping late in the afternoon. We came home, I made enchiladas and my sister and her dog came over for dinner. We watched 3 episodes of Law and Order, and then she went home, and the weekend was over, way too soon!
